Marängsviss is a traditional Swedish dessert that combines meringues, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and bananas. This delightful dessert is perfect for a special occasion or a simple treat. Here’s how you can make this indulgent dessert at home.

Ingredients:

  • For the Meringues:
    • 5 egg whites
    • 150 grams sugar
  • For the Dessert:
    • 250 grams frozen yogurt (any flavor)
    • 500 ml Greek yogurt (or hung curd)
    • 3-4 ripe bananas, sliced
    • Chocolate sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Meringues:
    • Preheat your oven to 120°C (250°F).
    • Beat the egg whites until they form soft peaks. Gradually add the sugar and continue to whip until the meringue is stiff and glossy.
    • Drop spoonfuls of the meringue onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
    • Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the meringues are crisp on the outside but still soft on the inside. Let them cool completely.
  2. Assemble the Dessert:
    • In a bowl, place the frozen yogurt, Greek yogurt, and mix well until smooth.
    • Arrange the sliced bananas in serving bowls or glasses.
    • Add scoops of the yogurt mixture on top of the bananas.
    • Break the meringues into pieces and place them over the yogurt.
    • Drizzle generously with chocolate sauce.
  3. Serve:
    • Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator for a few minutes before serving.
