Ingredients:

Preparing the Rice:
- Cook the Rice:
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine the rice and water in a rice cooker or pot and cook according to the rice cooker instructions or bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender.
Preparing the Toppings:
- Cook the Vegetables:
- Blanch the bean sprouts and spinach separately in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, then drain and squeeze out excess water. Season with a little sesame oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- In a skillet, heat some vegetable oil over medium heat. Sauté the julienned carrots and zucchini separately until tender, about 2-3 minutes each. Season with salt and pepper.
- Sauté the sliced shiitake mushrooms in the same skillet until tender, about 3-4 minutes. Season with soy sauce and sesame oil.
- Cook the Beef (Optional):
- In the same skillet, heat a little vegetable oil and sauté the thinly sliced beef until cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Season with soy sauce, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Fry the Eggs:
- In a non-stick skillet, heat a little vegetable oil over medium heat and fry the eggs sunny-side-up or to your preference.
