Instructions:

Preparing the Meatballs:

  1. Mix the Meatball Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, finely chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, Dijon mustard, chopped capers, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the Meatballs:
    • Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1-2 inches in diameter.
  3. Cook the Meatballs:
    • In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.

Preparing the Sauce:

  1. Make the Roux:
