  3. Skim the Butterfat:
    • Carefully skim off the butterfat that rises to the surface and set it aside in a small bowl. This will be used for serving later.
  4. Add the Milk and Flour:
    • Gradually add the milk, about 1 cup at a time, stirring constantly until smooth. Add the remaining flour and continue to cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until the porridge thickens to a smooth, creamy consistency. This can take about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Season with Salt:
    • Add the salt and stir well. Adjust the thickness of the porridge by adding more milk if necessary.
  6. Serve:
    • Ladle the hot rømmegrøt into bowls. Drizzle the reserved melted butter over the top and sprinkle generously with sugar and cinnamon. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.

Tips for Perfect Rømmegrøt:

  • Constant Stirring: Keep stirring the porridge to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pot and to ensure a smooth texture.
  • Adjusting Consistency: If the porridge becomes too thick, you can thin it out by adding a little more milk until you reach the desired consistency.
